Pre-release commitment

Privacy

Your private life is not raw material for someone else’s business. Inner Vault is being built so ownership remains with the person who created or entrusted the material.

Inner Vault is in development and does not yet accept real private material. This is the product’s privacy commitment; a final policy will describe the verified release implementation precisely.

Local first

Version one is planned without an account, application backend, advertising, behavioural analytics, cloud synchronization, remote commands, or third-party content processing. Ordinary use will not require the developer to receive or hold vault contents.

Everything sensitive belongs inside the boundary

Protection is intended to include notes, photographs, video, audio, scans, documents, titles, filenames, thumbnails, transcripts, previews, search representations, collection membership, and other derived metadata—not only the original file.

Private capture and honest imports

Material created with Inner Vault’s own capture tools is intended to remain out of Photos and other public media collections. When material is imported, Inner Vault will explain that it cannot erase or control the original copy held by Photos, Files, a cloud provider, a message, or another device.

Owner-controlled recovery

A complete encrypted recovery package and successful clean-install restore are required before real content is permitted. The recovery secret belongs to the owner. Losing every authorized recovery factor may make the vault permanently unrecoverable; that consequence will be stated plainly.

Family Sharing shares the purchase, not the vault

Every person’s vault, keys, recovery material, backups, metadata, and access remain separate. Family Sharing will never enroll another person in a vault or provide access to its contents.
